Sterile instrument transport for hospitals and surgery centers.

What we move

Surgical instrument sets in both directions, between your hospitals, surgery centers, clinics, and processing hub, on schedules built around your first-case start times.

01 Contaminated sets to decontamination

Used trays and instruments from surgery centers, clinics, and satellite sites to your decontamination area or processing hub.

02 Processed and sterile sets to the point of use

Delivered ahead of the times you set, with condition checked and recorded at the handoff.

03 Scheduled routes and on-demand runs

Standing daily routes plus same-day and STAT requests.

04 Vendor loaner sets

Loaner and consignment sets moved on tight turnarounds to the same handling standard.

How we protect your instruments

  • Clean or sterile and contaminated items never share a compartment on the same leg.
  • Closed, labeled carriers supplied or approved by your department, secured for the road.
  • Enclosed all-wheel-drive vehicles, with the interior cleaned and logged before the first pickup each day.
  • Temperature and humidity recorded at each pickup and delivery.
  • A signed log at every stop: date, time in and out, item description, quantity, and the receiver’s printed name and signature.
  • Any damage, delay, or discrepancy reported to your team immediately, not at the end of the week.
  • Drivers are Kirbelle employees, background-screened, and trained in bloodborne pathogens and HIPAA privacy before their first run.
  • A named backup driver and vehicle for every route.

Your policies and the standards

Facilities build their instrument transport programs around their own written policies and industry guidance such as AAMI ST79 and TIR109. We work to your policy. Our written procedure is available for review by your sterile processing and infection prevention leadership, and where your requirements are stricter than ours, we follow yours.
